Synopsis (short abstract) This manual addresses import verification as an aspect of the broader subject of import regulation. It draws extensively on requirements specified in several International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) and the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). It sets the stage or basis for import verification and provides guidance to national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) on the operation of an import verification system, the process of import verification, requirements for import verification and pathways that should be considered.
