The twelfth session of the Sub-Committee was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 26 to 30 April 2010. The Sub-Committee took note of recent developments concerning international trade in fishery products. It also considered specific issues related to international trade and sustainable fisheries development, including: fisheri es classification in the World Customs Organization; safety and quality of fishery products; integration of traceability requirements; FAO activities related to ecolabels; fish trade and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES); fish trade and food security. In its capacity as the International Commodity Body for Fishery Products, the Sub-Committee endorsed four project proposals for funding by the Common Fund for Commodities.

Puerto Varas, Chile, 6-10 de octubre de 2008. 2009The fourth session of the Committee on Fisheries Sub-Committee on Aquaculture was held in Puerto Varas, Chile, from 6 to 10 October 2008 at the kind invitation of the Government of Chile. It was attended by 38 Members of FAO, by representatives from one specialized agency of the United Nations and by observers from six intergovernmental and three international non-governmental organizations. Several working documents, including Technical guidelines on aquaculture certification, Towards better go vernance in aquaculture and Opportunities for addressing the challenges in meeting the rising global demand for food fish from aquaculture, were presented by the Secretariat for information, discussion and decision by the Sub-Committee. The Secretariat also held a special event on the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department’s Special Programme for Aquaculture Development in Africa (SPADA). All technical documents presented and the activities conducted were well received. The Sub-Committee reque sted the Secretariat to ensure the implementation of priority activities during the intersessional period. The Sub-Committee expressed its appreciation to the Government and people of Chile for their hospitality and the excellent facilities provided for the session. The Sub-Committee agreed that its next session should be held in 2010 and appreciated the offer made by the Government of Thailand to host it.

A synopsis of the outcome of the Session is presented in the abstract and supplementary information is included in the appendixes. La onzième session du Sous-Comité de l’aquaculture du Comité des pêches de la FAO s’est tenue en visioconférence du 24 au 27 mai 2022. Le présent document contient le rapport reflétant les débats menés lors de la session et dans lequel figurent les recommandations et les orientations formulées par le Sous-Comité. Un aperçu des résultats de la session est donné dans le résumé et des informations supplémentaires sont fournies dans les annexes. La 11.ª reunión del Subcomité de Acuicultura del Comité de Pesca de la FAO se celebró de forma virtual del 24 al 27 de mayo de 2022. En este documento se presenta el informe de la reunión, que da cuenta y razón de las deliberaciones mantenidas y contiene las recomendaciones y la orientación formuladas por el Subcomité. En el resumen se sintetizan los resultados de la reunión y en los apéndices se incluye información suplementaria.
