Synopsis (short abstract) While support for an ecosystem approach to fisheries management (EAFM) has long been recognized, progress in its implementation in the Asia-Pacific region has been slow. This is due in part to a lack of relevant skills by fisheries managers in applying an integrated and holistic approach to fisheries management. This training course aims to overcome this gap by providing capacity development in how to: manage fisheries more holistically, better resolve fisheries issues and challenges, reduce use r group conflicts, work cooperatively with other stakeholders, and help unlock financial resources. Participants will work with a template to develop an EAFM plan for their area. They will also learn and practice crucial skills for effective communication, facilitation, and conflict management. This volume is part of a three-volume training package for use by trainers and trainees.
