No results found.Indonesia is a major producer of agricultural products, although agriculture remains a highly labour-intensive sector and the cost of agricultural inputs is high. Strategies on e-agriculture have been developed in several countries to rationalize resources (financial, human, infrastructure, natural) and address national priorities holistically. Since 2005, Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), through its Centre for Agricultural Data and System Information (CADIS) and the Strategic Agricultural Command Centre (KOSTRA TANI), has been moving towards digitizing data. According to current records, the MoA has at least 700 online reporting systems for various needs and purposes. To streamline data management within this online environment, the MoA initiated the development of an agriculture war room (AWR). The MoA has identified several courses of action related to improving digital agriculture: (i) the development of a comprehensive strategy based on identified gaps and needs, building on existing frameworks and capacities to support the MoA in harnessing data and information resources to be able to achieve Indonesia’s agricultural vision; (ii) the further technical development of the e-agriculture data system, in support of the AWR, including an Early Warning System (EWS) platform; (iii) the development of national and provincial technical capacities on digital agriculture services/solutions. -

No results found.The main purpose of this e-agriculture strategy publication is to support agriculture and rural development by increasing access to valuable information that will help people whose livelihoods depend on agriculture make the best possible decisions and use available resources in the most efficient and sustainable way. This publication is based on evaluations made by FAO regarding e-agriculture and the e-learning content handled within the scope of the strategy. The e-Agriculture 4.0 approach evaluated digital literacy, access to broadband internet, the development of information systems, dissemination of mobile systems, the creation of e-commerce environments, data-based models, studies for the use and awareness of smart/precision agricultural technologies, digital monitoring of the value chain, databases that talk to each other and early warning systems. -

No results found.According to the Global Climate Risk Index, Pakistan is among the top ten most climate vulnerable countries in the world, with the short and longer term effects of climate change impacting agricultural production in the country Indeed, severe droughts and flooding have damaged crops, livestock and irrigation infrastructure in recent years, contributing to food shortages Information and communication technologies ( have significant potential to transform agriculture by addressing climate related issues in the sector These technologies can support evidence based decision making through the provision of accurate, reliable and up to date data It is in this context that FAO has supported the Government of Pakistan in the drafting of the country’s first E Agriculture Strategy, which aims to improve food security, livelihoods and value chains through the employment of innovative and smart technologies Information that will feed into the Strategy was gathered through consultative workshops that allowed for the identification of existing work in this area and for discussions on how to spark growth in the agriculture sector through the use of ICTs To support the Government of Pakistan in its goal of improving the country’s agriculture sector through the use of ICTs, this Technical Cooperation Programme ( project built the capacities of government staff on various ICTs and supported innovation in the sector through the establishment of an Agriculture Innovation Lab and Agrisurge an Agriculture Innovation Challenge ( that took place in 2020.
