It is important to view these challenges not in isolation but in the broader frame of access to water, food, energy and ecosystem services. All four elements are crucial for human well-being and are intrinsically linked. A nexus approach will help to identify trade-offs and synergies, resulting in a more coordinated way of addressing these interlinked issues.
