Synopsis (short abstract) The Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland (GoS), represented by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) is pleased to partner with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and jointly launch the FAO Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2013-15 in Swaziland. The CPF sets out priority areas to guide FAO’s partnership with and support to the GoS aimed at attaining the national vision and development goals of the people of Swaziland. The CPF identifies four broad priority areas o f intervention for the period 2013-15.

    The CPF reviews the status of agriculture in Zambia and provides an analysis of sector-specific challenges and opportunities. Suitable areas for FAO intervention are identified and justified in accordance with FAO’s comparative advantages, GRZ priorities, UNDAF outcomes and FAO strategic objectives. It is supported by annexes, including i) CPF alignment with other policy documents and frameworks; ii) a results matrix; and iii) a matrix showing resource requirements. The process of developing CP F involved broad consultations with GRZ and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector including development partners. This process brought out areas of FAO’s comparative advantages which were reviewed to ensure alignment with agriculture sector national priorities.

    This Annual Report of the FAO Representation summarizes the work done by the Organization in 2013 to achieve the medium-term priorities defined in the Country Programming Framework (CPF) for Mozambique 2012-2015 in support of the program of the Government. The CPF is fully integrated in the UN Development Assistance Framework for Mozambique-UNDAF 2012- 2015 – and responds to the strategic objectives of FAO emphasizing their catalytic role in developing sustainable capacity to improve food and nu trition security at country level. The document concentrates in three priority areas, namely governance on food and nutrition security; food availability, access and consumption; and environment, natural resources, climate change and disaster risk reduction.
