Synopsis (short abstract)This country outlook paper for Fiji focuses principally on industrial forestry projecting woodflows and likely developments in wood exporting industries to chart future development of forestry in the country. The paper notes that Fiji has built up a forest resource that has the growth capacity to become a very powerful engine for economic and social development and transformation. Whether this potential can be turned into a reality depends on how forest and forest industry policies develop.
