Synopsis (short abstract) This report outlines the state of forests and forest management in Myanmar drawing attention to the decline in natural forest resources, focus on plantation establishment to maintain timber supply and high fuelwood dependence in the country. The report highlights the need for a sound policy foundation, and a land use policy in particular, for sustainable forest management to take hold.
