The project "Securing the Future of World Agriculture in the face of climate change by conserving the Genetic Diversity of the Traditional Ecosystems of Mexico”, executed between 2018 and 2023 by the National Commission for Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO), aimed to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity in Mexico. The evaluation results highlight both the project`s high relevance to national and global priorities by its contribution to the supply of nutritious food, genetic diversity conservation, and resilient production systems in the face of climate change; and its coherence, which fostered internal and external collaborative relationships. Furthermore, achievements in knowledge availability, capacity development, inter-institutional coordination, and communication strategies are also noteworthy. Recommendations underscore joint efforts to ensure sustainability, suggesting the establishment of a joint working group between CONABIO and FAO to develop a strategy for institutionalizing project results. -

No results found.En México la madera se considera propiedad del dueño de la tierra. El gobierno solamente es dueño de la madera de los bosques de propiedad Federal o Estatal, por lo que ni el gobierno federal o los gobiernos municipales reciben pagos de regalías o "royalties". Así, México se aparta del esquema de MaPoTs convencional que se observa en otros países, en donde las regalías forestales tienen gran importancia. El presente estudio busca contribuir a:- Conocer el valor y la composición de lo s pagos por MaPoTs forestales cobrados a comunidades, así como a pequeños y medianos propietarios forestales por el aprovechamiento, transporte y comercialización de madera.
- Analizar el impacto que estos gravámenes tienen en la factibilidad económica del MFS y en la economía campesina .
- Conocer el monto de los valores recaudados, el destino y la utilización que los Gobiernos le dan a estos recursos.
- Identificar las propuestas que comunidades forestales, propietarios y otras agrupaciones del sector forestal nacional han formulado respecto al pago o utilización de los MaPoTs
- Evaluar las ventajas y los impactos de una posible reducción/eliminación o sustitución de las tasas forestales a la luz de esquemas de pago por servicios ambientales como incentivo adicional al MFS.

Within the framework of the FRA programme, a vast amount of information on the status and trends in forest area, natural forests, plantations, pro tected areas, sustainable forest management and other, related variables, was collected and analysed.
